A Chair is Just a Chair No More, the BMW of Chairs!
Walked into this furniture store in an industrial area in Calgary in Alberta, Canada.
The local Manager's name was Matt he had a selection of chairs available for your office. In the corner of the store there was a chair, a chair that gleamed with polished chrome on the base. And the wheels, the wheels had spokes just like a car, so you couldn't get dust or debris stuck in them while rolling across the floor wherever you were.
Talked to a gentleman named Glen Bradley, he began to tell me the history of this chair. It was a chair like no other, the arms could adjust outwards, or up and down for a perfect fit.
But there was more, of course their always is in a sales presentation. However, this chair was special you could tell by just looking at it. It looked like it belonged in the cockpit of a plane. Even the back of the chair was supportive to the body with a unique material. Of course the chair was black, it was somewhat executive looking but anyone could use it.
Glen described all the features but there was more to the history of the chair. It was designed origionally along time ago and it's sturdy and simple construction was very effective. He mentioned how many IT businesses had known of the chair for its use and comfort for long hours of work.
Someone who had bought out the origional company had added a few features as mentioned and really paid attention to what made that chair. He had realized the past person's vision and took it a step further. He brought it to the future.
The chair was one of many but it looked more special than all the others. I will always remember that day talking to Glen at Source Furniture in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
